Skin Recovery Ingredients We are Obsessed With
Skin recovery will be now one of the most frequent topics. After the lockdown and then after the hot summer, our skin was and still will be exposed to a number of stressful moments. We all had some skin struggles. Whether it is dryness, dullness, or acne, skin sensitivity increased significantly. Face masks were and will be a source of skin sensitivity for a while. Check out our go- to-ingredients which helped us and hopefully will help you recover quicker and rebalance the skin.
#1 Skin recovery with Beta Glucan
Let’s start with a big bang. If you have not noticed it yet, we definitely are obsessed with 3rd generation of beta-glucan. The patented formula of mbetaglucan is getting more and more love and attention.
Derived from mushrooms, beta glucan is an excellent humectant. It creates a protective shield over the skin. It protects the skin from moisture loss, environmental stressors that may cause premature ageing, dryness and inflammation.
We took our time to select the best beta-glucan product line and here it is, the one and only Kosmetic Immunity by JKosmmune. What is so different about this brand and its formulas? Read more in our post. about mBeta Glucan.
#2 Recovery with Organic Bulgarian Rose Water
Bulgarian Rose Water has been used in skincare for many centuries. This gentle natural ingredient has excellent skin-enhancing benefits. We love it as it is very gentle and suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive.
Thanks to the calming properties it has, every irritated and inflamed skin will love this ingredient. In addition, it helps clean and detoxify pores. Bulgarian Rosewater has excellent nourishing, toning, and hydrating properties. The essential oils in rose water balance skin’s ph levels and rejuvenate tired, dull, mature skin. One of our favourite brands, Urang is using Bulgarian Rose Water in their amazing products.
#3 Skin recovery with Kombucha
Kombucha, known as probiotic in the skincare industry, has antisceptic quality and organic acids which help to balance the skin’s pH. In addition, it improves skin tone, texture, and clarity making skin brighter. We love this ingredient as it combats free radicals and therefore has anti-ageing properties. We wrote a special blog post on this amazing ingredient. You can read more here.
# 4 Hydrated skin with Snail Mucin
Korean skincare without secretion filtrate would not be the same. We use this humectant for its anti-ageing and hydrating properties. Over time we noticed that it improves skin’s texture. What you will notice is that it can be used to tackle a number of skin concerns and is suitable for all skin types. In addition, it does not clog pores.
#5 Skin recovery with Centella Asiatica
We discovered Cica, when we actually started our journey with K-beauty. Centella Asiatica contains a lot of flavonoids and an active compound called “Madecassoside”, which serves as antioxidants. Thanks to cica you will be able to neutralize the free radical damage caused by the sun and pollution exposure. More importantly, by using Centella Asiatica you may also improve blood circulation and the synthesis of collagen. We love it as over time it can improve the skin’s elasticity.
As Centella Asiatica is rich in Amino Acids, Beta Carotene, Fatty Acids, and Phytochemicals, it has powerful nutrients for the skin. Amino Acids is a great hydrating ingredient to soothe rough and irritated skin.
Specifically, Centella Asiatica is ideal for sensitive skin which is red, inflamed, irritated or itchy. It helps reduce the visible signs of skin sensitivity such as itching and burning significantly.
Moreover, Centella Asiatica is a brilliant ingredient in treating eczema, psoriasis, veins, and stretch marks. You will like Cica because acne skin imperfections will heal sooner and therefore there always will be a smaller risk of scarring.
#6 Mugwort for balanced and happy skin
We recommend mugwort, similarly like Cica, as it is used for its calming properties.
In addition, it has antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing. Hence, its versatility is irreplaceable. We use it to eliminate toxins, stimulates skin renewal and brightens dull tone. We will be devoting a separate blog post on this great ingredient so please stay tuned for more.
