Serums help improve your skin’s hydration. You’ll tend to use them after cleansing, toning and exfoliating to get the skin calm and ready to moisturise. They typically contain a high concentration of active ingredients to get in there and help problem areas.

It is best to think of ampoules as a step above that. They have a much higher concentration of active ingredients and would be used less frequently, i.e. while someone may use a serum a few times a week, you’d only expect to use an ampoule once a week.
